We tested Windows 11

So we gave a test run on VM and it ran fine. When we tried it on our physical machine we had to do some work around.

So what you require is TPM 2.0 and this cost money its an attachment to your motherboard or built in however this is our specs

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

16GB Ram DDR4

B550M Aorus Pro

So for AMD Bios wise CSM had to be disabled this enabled prevents drivers that are unofficial from booting up when we looked it up and ill admit i don’t go into bios other than OC and some other small tweaks. Then there is fTPM that had to be enabled. This allowed it to see that the Hardware was compatible now I think its more to do with it bean a beta leak than a final release.

However WARNING wise it will make BIOS really slow to work with we using an Ultra wide monitor and suddenly everything is stretched etc. but the booting to the USB and installing to our 1TB HDD went perfectly fine during this. afterwards disabled fTPM and re enabled CSM back this made everything like it was before. Low and behold Windows 11 still booted perfectly fine no errors. There was a file we edited (had to google) but unsure if that assisted to be honest.

Now i have tested RC versions of older windows in the passed and they ran fine too but this one felt more like a shiny new theme than anything else i’m sure there are a lot more features on final release. however as you can watch the very horrible video below its fancy…but thats about it visually. Security wise reckon there are some updates that addresses some security risks in future etc. However still recommend a good anti virus such as F-Secure Safe/Total for example.

Now in the video we couldn’t do too many chances because you needed a licensed key etc so we couldn’t change some settings like moving the Win start back to the original spot which admittedly looks cool but not functional for myself.

Pricing isnt up yet but well sure know as soon as it is up. however there are talks about free upgrades so If you running what we assuming is a legal copy of Windows 10 Home you will get a free upgrade to Windows 11 home and same goes with Pro and other versions like workstations etc. Will definitely be upgrading however once we fixed the iexplore issue that will be bothering me when doing things with SABC or any other goverment portal. (Maybe gov can upgrade to the modern age). or run a VM just for that.

Please excuse the mic it wasn’t configured properly with the filters.

Conclusion is it fancy yes.

Mac? yes and no

Linux Ubuntu yes and no ish…very ish

Does pirate software work.. untested but utorrent loaded fine time will tell didnt bother with it too much.

Steam .. yes no issues

Games … only one we tested that gave issues was Metal Gear Solid to be fair its really old and even on windows 10 there was a work around on that game. otherwise what worked modern games wise ran fine no issues.

Will it better you life… To be honest not yet only when Windows 10 becomes obsolete security wise that’s about it personally speaking.
Will your company change from Windows 7… you were supposed to long ago
